Where do your eyes take you? If only we could live forever in those spectacular moments. I suppose that is why we are here sharing in this Flickr space. Flickering through each other's photographs. Trying to escape and live a little more, a little deeper, a little longer.

Paz y amor. Pachamama, Atabey, ayúdanos. Taínos, Karibeñes, Latinxs. Borindígenxs. Aho.

Enjoying Mosaic Creations at Shankari Artists Sanctuary in Bali, Indonesia, as a Workaway experience. Shankari Artists Sanctuary is located in Bali, Indonesia.
This short clip was a collaboration with Yuri Silva @yvri_2b.
This Workaway experience is found at www.workaway.info

English version: By Yuri Silva
"I came to Shankari's Artists Sanctuary to learn Mosaico.
I had seen some of Shankari's work and found it very interesting. For me personally, it keeps me calm and teaches me to be patient. When you place together the small pieces of mosaic, at the end of the project all these small pieces of mosaic form a beautiful piece of art. I am eternally grateful."

I can't help but think about how much Mark Zuckerberg and his metaverse sound extremely similar to Zeep Xanflorp and his miniverse in Rick and Morty Season 2 Episode 6: The Ricks Must Be Crazy. It inspired me to put this little video together. Kind of like when The Simpsons predicted a bunch of sh** like Donald Trump becoming president. Black Mirror is another one. Truth is, in my humble opinion, these are not solid predictions 100% of the time. It is advertising what we already know is here. "tomato tomato". I was recording with my cellphone.

From: Rick and Morty Wiki https://rickandmorty.fandom.com/wiki/The_Ricks_Must_Be_Crazy/Transcript

A piece of the Transcript.
Zeep: Fine. It's hard for people to grasp, but inside that container is an infinite universe with a planet capable of generating massive amounts of power. I call it a miniverse.

Rick: [Coughs] Dumb [coughs] name.

Zeep: Excuse me?

Rick: [Clears throat] Nothing. I mean, it's hard for us to comprehend all this. Would it be possible for us to get some kind of tour of your miniverse from the inside?

Zeep: This isn't a [bleep] chocolate factory. I don't have time.

[dialogue continues]
[skip]

Zeep: What they don't know is that 80% of every crank's energy output gets channeled out of the miniverse to be used by us. No more gooble boxes.

Rick: I got to tell you, Zeep, with no disrespect, I really think what you're doing here is unethical. It's not cool.

Morty: What?!
He dejado de buscarte, ahora encuéntrame tú | Videopoema

Poemita

He dejado de buscarte, ahora encuéntrame tú.
We came into each other
And neither of us were ready,
But I knew you were the one.
But who the hell is ready for the Big Bang of love?

Videopoema para toda mujer.

Me quiero
¡Y mira! Cómo le has perdido el miedo de andar sola, porque has entendido que sola no estás. Andas contigo misma.

Me quiero.

Divorced? Travel | Europe & Southeast Asia

You know, my name is Shirley, and when I was 27 years old, I decided to travel all around Europe and South East Asia alone a few months after my ex-partner and I separated. Divorce? Travel! Three months turned almost into a year. I had the best experiences of my life, especially through the Workaway experience, where I got to volunteer in many places and meet the most exciting people of my life. Somehow, all my tears and fears turned into joy, love and passion. And I want to give a special shoutout to my good friend Joe for pushing me and inspiring me to get lost and find myself.

To all the friends I made all over the world I want to say thank you and y'all forever in my heart.

Con la luz de mi ser,
Shirley

Who are we? Selfish humans | Spoken word poetry | from Shirley Roots

I'm breaking all the rules.
No one seems to care anyways.
But it takes less than a second to be stamped 'rebellious'.
Who are we? Selfish humans.
Building up walls between each other, standing up for all the wrong things.
This fabricated life is not for me.
Take my money it, take it all!
I stand for unity and peace.
I'd rather starve with those who are starving.
I'd rather be called an atheist if that means I don't burry myself in religion.
I'd rather burry myself to the ground, to this planet, if that means I get to grow and be fruitful for others.

30 day USA Roadtrip
#shirleyhitstheroad That was the hashtag I used on this spectacular road trip. Again this was me back in 2015 feeling lost after being medically discharged from the Army. The itch to go out and explore was impossible to ignore, especially having watched a few documentaries on Netflix. I did this road trip on my own for about 30 days. Slept in my car. At the time I was temporarily living in New Hampshire, drove all the way West, and around the USA. North America has many beautiful places. Lucky to have visited so many national parks and on and off meet with a few friends who gave me shelter.

My advice to anyone out there is to travel as much as you can now. Don't wait. :))

Love,
Shirley
